A pink, house-shaped restaurant called GUMBO HOUSE with a large sign indicating its 9th anniversary and phone number, surrounded by outdoor seating and a fence, with trees and a tall office building in the background.

The Gumbo House originated on January 5, 2006, in a pink house, on 9th and F st. With only a few items on the menu, two brothers, Gustavo and Roberto Del Real, decided to transform their Mexican restaurant into something more unique.

Now, 16 years later, the pink house has become a staple of Downtown Anchorage, and the Gumbo House remains as the only Cajun restaurant in Alaska. We pride ourselves not just in our food, but the relationships we create with our customers. We are a family business, and our community is just that, family.

On December 1st, 2022, we moved to a new location: 508 W 6th Ave, Anchorage, Alaska. Leaving the small pink house was difficult after nearly 20 years of creating memories. However, we are excited for the growth and development that will come with our new location. With open arms, we invite you to our new home and strive to extend our family.
