The Gumbo House originated on January 5, 2006, in a pink house, on 9th and F st. With only a few items on the menu, two brothers, Gustavo and Roberto Del Real, decided to transform their Mexican restaurant into something more unique.
Now, nearly 20 years later, the pink house has become a staple of Downtown Anchorage, and Gumbo House remains the only Cajun restaurant in Alaska. Two decades of bold flavors, loyal guests, and a community that keeps coming back — that's what drives us every day. We are a family business, and our community is just that, family.
On December 1st, 2022, we moved to a new location: 508 W 6th Ave, Anchorage, Alaska. Leaving the small pink house was difficult after many years of creating memories. However, we are excited for the growth and development that will come with our new location. With open arms, we invite you to our new home and strive to extend our family.
